Texas Dispatachable Wind 1, LLC
The Gaines, Texas Dispatchable Wind Project is a 2.0MW wind generation project is located in West Texas and is owned and operated by Texas Dispatachable Wind 1, LLC, a subsidiary of General Compression. The project consists of a wind turbine, a General Compression Advanced Energy Storage (GCAES) system, a storage cavern, and other electrical & ancillary facilities. The project has the capability to, during periods of low demand, store portions of the energy generated by the wind turbine and later, during periods of increased demand, release the stored energy. Construction of the project began in 2011 and the project was commissioned in late 2012.
