How We Do it

A DWPS installation has three primary elements: Dispatchable Wind Turbines (wind turbines equipped with our revolutionary Dragonfly™ compressors), compressed air storage, and expansion / generation equipment.

GC's Dispatchable Wind Turbine nacelle houses a unique compressor array, which pumps air into underground storage at a pressure of 100 atmospheres (~1500 psi). This compressed air is used to generate to mechanical and/or electrical power as desired. Custom-developed control algorithms manage turbine operation and expander / generator operation. The entire system is designed to be responsive to both input (wind supply) and output (grid demand) requirements.

The result is wind energy on demand - clean, reliable wind energy relieved of the impediments of intermittency and unpredictability.
